Castor Oil

I can remember as a small child my Grandmother Lois talking about the benefits of castor oil. I can hear her in my mind as she said the words “castor oil” with her thick Kentuckian accent. In the recent year I have heard a lot of hype about this oil and it brought me back to her. I wonder why we have gotten so far away from these “old time” natural remedies.

Castor Oil benefits. Helps quality of skin

Castor Oil should be in a dark, glass bottle. The quality of it is important. It can be used for a host of different ailments. I use Queen of Thrones brand. I have used it topically on my body a few nights each week. There are a lot of people who buy cotton pads or castor oil packs but I simply wear old cotton pajamas on those nights and then sometimes I throw a heating pad over myself and relax. It is said that the heat can help penetrate the oil, and regardless of the extra effect, the heat feels good so why not? I will tell you that the oil is thick and will not glide on your skin easily. I still only use it by itself without a carrier oil because I am fine with it, but some people are not. I put it into my hands and rub together vigorously to warm it up naturally and rub it all over my legs, arms, belly and chest. Sometimes I apply some around my eyes and people have said that using it on your eyebrows and eyelashes helps them grow.

What I have noticed? The texture of my skin is better. I can even go as far to say that it has improved the laxity of my skin. As we age the skin naturally losses collagen and therefore becomes relaxed or saggy. I will continue the castor oil regime.
